Saccoccio & Associates provided a design solution for much-needed renovations and expansion at Cranston High School East with a RIDE-compliant plan implemented in phases. The initial phase provided a new gymnasium addition and converted the existing one into new classrooms and a day care facility. A subsequent phase of work included a new four-story in-fill addition that provided a new cafeteria, media center/library, music rooms, classrooms and an elevator for improved accessibility. Several existing classrooms adjacent to the new addition were converted to administrative office suites, and the existing auditorium was extensively renovated. Energy and cost-efficient systems incorporated include day-lighting sensors and new HVAC systems used throughout the school.
